Epsilon Alpha Phi Zeta Scholarship Application

On January 16, 1920, five trailblazing women founded Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated at Howard University, establishing a sisterhood built on Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.


Scholarship is the first and foundational principle of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. In alignment with this guiding value, Epsilon Alpha Phi Zeta is proudly committed to supporting academic excellence by offering three scholarships to high school senior within Charles County Public Schools. These scholarships recognize academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential, while helping recipients pursue higher education opportunities at accredited colleges and universities.

  • (1) Viola Tyler Goings Academic Achievement Scholarship

  • (1) Fannie Pettie Watts  Community Involvement  Scholarship

  • (1) G.S. Proctor Scholarship  


Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduating high school senior.

  • Resident of Charles County, MD, or daughter of a financial Epsilon Alpha Phi Zeta Chapter Member.

  • Be accepted for full-time study at a four-year college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and provide proof of acceptance.

  • Cumulative (unweighted) GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

  • Must not have previously received an Epsilon Alpha Phi Zeta Chapter scholarship.

Instructions:

Applicants are required to select one (1) essay question from the options below and submit a response. Essays must be original, typed, and submitted through this application. All responses will be kept confidential.


Essays will be evaluated on creativity, clarity, grammar, adherence to the topic, and word count.
